17a By faith,
17b being tested,
17c Abraham offered up Isaac;
17d and he receiving the promises
17e was offering up the only begotten,
18a as to whom it was said,
18b "In Isaac your Seed shall be called;" Gen. 21:12
19a reckoning
19b that God was able to raise even from the dead;
19c from where indeed he obtained him
19d in a parable.
20a By faith
20b concerning things to come
20c Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau.

21b dying Jacob
21c blessed each of the sons of Joseph,
21d and "worshiped on the top of his staff." LXX-47:31

22d and he gave orders concerning his bones.
A. The Reason Abraham was commended is because he offered Isaac in faith, believing in God’s power to even raise the dead to fulfil His promises.
