Bedford Minor Basketball Association
Bantam Boys Team Information Form
Hello Athletes and Parents,
Welcome back to a fun-filled season of basketball. The Eagles coaches believe in playing a team-focused, high paced, energetic game, with players who are motivated to push themselves while having fun. We strive to develop successful young men, not just successful basketball players. We emphasize leadership and sound decision-making, while working to develop the athletes as technically solid basketball players.
We are looking for boys that will always work hard, who always compete, who have confidence and controlled aggression, and who are looking to get out of their comfort zones in order to improve their game. We hope to help them develop a life-long love for the game.
We just wanted to take the chance to provide some preliminary information on us and our teams, as well as collect some information from each athlete. We ask that each parent and athlete read through this form and fill in the information as honestly as possible. We feel it is important for the boys to begin to be introduced to our expectations for work ethic and commitment and it is only fair to us and the future team that we are equally informed about potential conflicts. After you fill out the information, we ask that both the child and the guardians sign the paper, and return it to us by emailor in person at the first classification session.
These letters ARE NOT used to screen out athletes that play other sports. We believe players can and should be multi-sport athletes. The information helps the coaches to put teams together only. For example, we would not put three hockey players on a team of 10 but we might increase the size of that roster to 12 if we know that 3 players have another sport they are also committed to.
We look forward to working with each of the athletes, and we wish everyone the best of luck in the upcoming sessions.
Sincerely,
Coaches of Bedford Bantam Boys Basketball

Section 2: Commitment
We practice twice per week. Please note that schedules are not made yet.
Practices are the most important part of team and individual development, and we expect every player to attend the practices. School commitments, family commitments, and illness are obvious exceptions.
We plan to play a number of extra games beyond the MBA season. We expect as many as 25-30 games during the year and some of those will require travel. While this is an excellent opportunity to play numerous games in a variety of environments, there is a lot of extra time and cost associated with this commitment. We will advise you of planned trips as soon as possible. At the parent meeting we will discuss funding options for tournament fees and other costs.
We would like to be informed of yours and your child’s commitment to the basketball program by answering the following questions to the best of your knowledge.
What other commitments might conflict with basketball at any point throughout the season?
If there is a conflict in time, which commitment is most important?
Which days/times do you already have a commitment that cannot be switched for practices?
Do you have any weekends that you are currently not available to travel due to another commitment?
Players and parents, please initial below to confirm that you have read and discussed this form.
