Mrs. Jansen

This class is designed for the dancer/student who would like to take their study to the next level. A more intense study of dance will be required as well as a deep commitment to your art as a dancer. I want this class to be yours. Though I have set guidelines and assignments for the class, many decisions will be made by the class regarding the directions we take. During the year you will learn about/complete:

  1. Forms/Styles research project- Semester One
  2. Choreographer/dancer research project- Semester Two
  3. Choreography projects (one per grading period)
  4. Dance composition
  5. Dance notation
  6. Digital music editing

  9. Advanced technique practice

Every day of class will be different. Some days we will never leave the classroom, some days will be spent in the library or computer lab, some days will be in the cafeteria on the dance floor. Some days will be entirely teacher-led, some student-led, and some work/research days.

This class has students with many different levels of experience/training/ability. No one should be made to feel self-conscious or put down by another student at any time.
