Dear all,
Please note that the deadline to submit applications to attend the 27th session of the Human Rights Council, the Working Group of the Universal Periodic Review as well as the sessions of treaty bodies taking place in Geneva between September and December 2014 is: 14 July 2014.
Below are the States that will be examined by the UPR and Treaty Bodies for the said period:
· 20th session of the UPR Working Group (Geneva, 27 October – 7 November 2014)
States under review: Italy, El Salvador, Gambia, Bolivia, Fiji, San Marino, Kazakhstan, Angola, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Madagascar, Iraq, Slovenia, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina
· Human Rights Committee – 112th session (Geneva, 7 – 31 October 2014)
Consideration of State’s report of: Burundi, Haiti, Israel, Malta, Montenegro, Sri Lanka
Adoption of list of issues: Canada, Spain, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Uzbekistan, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of)

· Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) – 53rd session (Geneva, 19- 28 November 2014)

· Some of the issues that will be discussed at the 27th session of the Human Rights Council (September 2014) are:
- Indigenous Peoples (Interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; and half day discussion on the promotion and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples in natural disaster risk reduction);

- Water and Sanitation
- Hazardous Wastes
- Contemporary forms of slavery
- Truth, Justice, reparation and non-recurrence
- Development
- Internal displaced people
- Adoption of the UPR Working Group reports of: Norway, Albania, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Portugal, Bhutan, Dominica, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Costa Rica, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Qatar, and Nicaragua

Please also verify the new criteria for selection established by the members of the Board of Trustees of the Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples to make sure that you are eligible to apply to attend the sessions you are interested in.
