Public Awareness Committee (PAC)

MEMBERS PRESENT:

Rebecca Bussman, Kristin Atkins, Charity Parker, Rhonda Mailman, Kerrie Lewis, Shelby Peterson, Lori Stupar, Susan McLeod, Clint Akins, Michelle Espinoza, Elaine Brewer, Daphne Paul, Sharon Rogers, Becki Pence, Lindsey Ahl.

ISSUES DISCUSSED: Minutes: Last meeting minutes were approved as amended.

Conference:

  • Discussed details such as breakfast / snack, registration, handouts, and etc. Sharon Rogers agreed to be responsible for Breakfast and Snack. She obtained sponsorship from the City of Shalimar for snack. The Rogers Family and the VisitationCenter will be donating the Breakfast. Charity discussed that as of this date there are only 5 people registered. Handouts will be placed on the website. Next meeting will be at the facility to ensure all equipment is available.
  • Art Contest will be conducted in partnership with the NorthwestFloridaBalletAcademy.
  • Pat Franklin agreed to be our conference facilitator.

Marketing/ Recruitment:

  • Day of DVCC feedback was positive. Need to hold it earlier in the year next year.
  • Stephanie Carroll donated supplies for the Day of DVCC membership pamphlets.
  • Rebecca sent a press release to “On the Coast” magazine and is still waiting follow up.
  • Charity Party still being planned for December 6, 2008 from 5 to 7pm.

DVAM Events:

  • The Shelter House will be holding vigils on 10/6/08 in FWB and 10/8 in DFS. The PAC supports them in their activities. They will also be hosting proclamation signing for FWB and for DFS. Lastly, they are planning a yard sale on 10/4 and a pumpkin patch at Harbor Walk throughout the month of October.
  • Kristin verified the budget in order to plan conference expenses.
