Job Description

East Bay design studio has a full time, staff opportunity for a hands-on talented junior to mid-level Graphic Designer to join our small creative team. We are looking for a passionate creative who is a guru in CS yet can pick up a pencil to help concept, design and execute a variety of projects including collateral, consumer marketing campaigns, packaging and ads for print and web.

You are:

• A strong conceptual/strategic thinker who is fast and efficient with excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A designer with a keen sense of current design trends but are not bound by them

• Someone with a fierce love of typography and graphics

• Comfortable seeing your work through to final production print ready files (This is KEY)

• A self-starter with a great Juggling Act who understands a small office — jumping in as needed and sometimes wearing multiple hats

• Someone who can bring your creative touch to small and quick turn projects as well as larger long term projects

You will be:

• Developing concepts and strategic solutions to point of sale, packaging, collateral and web projects

• Presenting those concepts and rationale to internal team

• Producing final production files for off set Print and Web

• Helping out other members of team to complete projects

• Retouching Photoshop files with expertise

• Coordinating vendors including evaluating budgets and proposals

• Reviewing printer proofs and participating in press checks

Required Qualifications

You have the following:

• Minimum 3 years design experience (preferably consumer) with at least 1 year of proven file production experience

• Bachelors Degree in Design or related field

• Outstanding portfolio with recent consumer and web work

• Advanced abilities in Creative Suite, including photoshop retouching expertise

• Ability to work well under tight deadlines

• Demonstrated understanding and ability to deliver files for offset printing

• Up Beat and Positive Attitude

Bonus points if you bring any (or all) of the following:

• Illustration

• 3-d rendering

• Copywriting
