Category A

Doctoral candidates who come from a country other than “a Member State of the European Union, an EEA-EFTA State (i.e. Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein), and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries. The only exception to this rule applies to Third-Country doctoral candidates who have previously received an Erasmus Mundus masters scholarship in order to follow an EMMC

If a candidate will think he/she does not satisfy the formal requirements to belong to category A, but yet has previously received an Erasmus Mundus Masters Fellowship in order to follow an EMMC(Erasmus Mundus Master Course), he/she will have to provide for all the documentation concerning this Erasmus Mundus Master Fellowship, which will have to include the official letter from EACEA or the invitation letter from the University/Universities involved in the EMMC.

Category B

Doctoral candidate selected by EMJD consortia and who do not fulfil the Category A criteria, that is candidates who come from “a Member State of the European Union, an EEA-EFTA State (i.e. Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein), and who are residents or have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.

DRAFT RESEARCH PROJECT

Please include in ANNEX_5 the draft research project

Please prepare a draft thesis proposal based on a field study or on a critical review of articles referring to one of the topic. This draft must include a working title, a brief description of why the study is relevant, formulation of the problem to be studied, the objective of the study, methods and materials, and a time table in agreement with the Ph.D program. (3000 words).
