Assignment Overview
The case studies and case problems are designed to provide an opportunity for the learner to demonstrate knowledge of the strategic importance of Operations Management and to apply tools and techniques to specific problems.
Learning Outcomes
Across the four assignments, students must show evidence of the following learning outcomes
1. Understand the nature of Operations Management and its critical role in global competition
2. Understand the selection and design process in relation to strategy and concepts.
Deliverable
One assignment document, maximum 1,500 words.
Delivery
Assignment must be typed, double spaced with page numbers, and font size 12.
Assignments must be submitted in hard and soft copy.

Assignment 1 Case Study: Tata Indica (Telco) – The making of the small car.
Read the attached case and answer the following questions:
1. Going beyond the course material, identify Telco’s approach to supply chain management and evaluate their strategy critically.
2. Identify and describe the measures Telco took to ensure a seamless flow across the supply chain?
3. Critically discuss the reasons why manufacturing at Telco would be described as enlightened rather than traditional?
4. New product development is a key element of organisational learning. Describe how Telco has availed of the opportunities for learning presented in the case study.
