JOB DESCRIPTION
Post: Payroll Administrator
Responsible to: Senior Human Resources Officer (Recruitment)
Purpose: To support the Human Resources service at Sport Wales.
Main Duties:
Pay
1. Central payroll contact with external payroll provider
2. Prepare monthly pay submissions
3. Check all pay submissions from other staff processed correctly
4. Forward all pay submissions to payroll provider by deadline dates
5. Respond to pay queries from payroll provider and staff
6. Maintain and secure personnel and pay files
7. To process incremental rises
8. Review and amend when necessary standardised pay forms
9. Advise staff of changes to their pay
10. Update payroll modelling spreadsheet
11. Prepare salary statements
12. Process maternity and paternity pay, as required
13. Action negotiated annual pay agreements by calculating revised salary details, preparing notifications to payroll provider, transferring data to Snowdrop database. Prepare letters to staff re effect of change on their salaries.
14. Produce total reward statements annually
15. Take notes of Pay Committee meetings and ensure all actions are completed.
HR Database and Reporting
16. Maintain database of personnel records - updating employee personal details, pay data, revised spine points and allowances.
17. Produce management reports as required
18. Provide statistics on the workforce to the Welsh Government and other statutory bodies.
Benefits
19. Administration of pension scheme joiners, leavers and retirements
20. Deal with pension enquiries from the Pension Administrators and staff
21. Ensure benefits are updated as required and staff informed of changes
22. Deal with all staff queries on their benefits package
23. Ensure appropriate paperwork is maintained on all benefit schemes, eg bicycle/childcare voucher scheme, pension fund
24. Keep benefits leaflets up to date
Miscellaneous
25. Respond to HR queries from staff, preparing correspondence in response to internal and external enquiries, arranging meetings, dealing with telephone enquiries
