Prerequisite: Math 1350, Calculus 1

Text: Essential Calculus, Early Transcendentals, second edition by James Stewart

I will post course handouts on my website.

Lectures can be accessed via the video archive link found at

Homework: We will be covering most of chapters 6-9. Homework will be assigned every day and will be due at least once a week (usually on Tuesdays). I highly recommend that you don't wait until the night before it is due to start the homework, but that you work on it as soon as it is assigned. Not only will this help you to complete the homework, it will also help you to better understand the lectures. As an incentive to motivate you to complete your homework, I will count it as 15% of your final grade. Roughly half the points for each assignment will be earned by simply putting in a good effort on the entire assignment. The other half of the points will be earned by accuracy on whichever problems I choose to grade. (Typically 2-5 problems per assignment.) I DO NOT ACCEPT LATE HOMEWORK, NO EXCEPTIONS!! I will, however, count your lowest homework score as extra credit at the end of the semester.

Exams:Homework, quizzes and in class work15%

Chapter 6 exam 20%
Chapter 7, 9.1-9.2 exam20%

Chapter 8 exam20%
