  • Compiles and maintains material inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and between production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities.
  • Reviews production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and to inform supervisors of material status.
  • Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas by remote operated crane.

The department is an "all hazards" organization, providing fire protection, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS -Paramedic), Hazardous Materials Team, Collapse Team, Confined Space, Dive Rescue and Marine Operations. *Administer Emergency Medical Services to injured persons, frequently using advance techniques to restore cardio-pulmonary functions.

Hazmat program onboard was commended as excellent by the Senior Naval Occupational Safety and Health INSURV inspector and contributed to the excellent score of 98.37 achieved in the Supply Management Inspection.
