1RULES
1.1The regatta will be governed by the:
- Rulesas defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (2005-2008),
- CYA prescriptions to the Racing Rules of Sailing (2005-2008),
- One Design Class Rules,
- Sailing Instructions for this event, and
- Notice of Race (except as modified by the Sailing Instructions).
1.2Modifications to the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions may be made with a posting to the Regatta Notice Board up to one hour before the first race each day.
2ADVERTISING
2.1Advertising will be restricted to category A
3ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1The regatta is open to one-design dinghy classes with a minimum of 5 entries. Classes that do not meet this requirement will be started together and scored with North American Portsmouth numbers. We anticipate classes to include Fireballs, 29ers, 420s, Lasers, Radials, Megabytes, Bytes, and Optis.
3.2Entry forms will be available with this Notice of Race. Extra forms will be available from the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, and at the regatta registration desk.
3.3Registration forms and fees may be dropped-off/mailed/faxed in advance to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club or handed in at the registration desk between 9:00 – 10:30 September 29, 2007.
3.4Registration closes at 10:30 September 29, 2007.
4CLASSIFICATION
4.1The ISAF Sailor Classification Code will apply.
5FEES
The entry fees will be as follows:
$45 Cdn – For Single-Handed Boats (Early Reg: $35 Cdn)
$90 Cdn – For Double-Handed Boats(Early Reg: $70 Cdn)
To qualify for early registration rates, entry forms and fees must be submitted by 5 pm, September 21, 2007.
Dinner on Saturday Night and Lunch (Sunday only, on the water) will be provided.
6SCHEDULE

10:45 Competitors Meeting on Foreshore of RVYC
12:00Warning Signal for first race of the day, subsequent races will follow
17:30Dinner in RVYC Main Lounge or outside if weather permits

10:00Warning Signal for first race of the day, subsequent races will follow
14:30 Latest warning signal of the day
Prizes will be awarded on the lawn or in the Main Lounge approximately one hour after the last boat finishes.
7SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
7.1Sailing Instructions will be available between 9:00 and 10:30 at the regatta registration desk.
8RACING AREA
8.1The regatta will take place in the vicinity of CadboroBay and OakBay.
9COURSES
9.1Courses will be defined in the Sailing Instructions.
10PENALTY SYSTEM
10.1For Skiff Classes (eg. 29er, SKUD 18, 49er), rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one jibe, is required.
10.2Appends P will be in effect for this regatta
11SCORING
11.1Low point scoring
11.2A series will consist of a minimum of one race per class. There will be no maximum number of races. When 5 or less races have been completed a boats series will be the total of her races. If more than 5 races are completed, a boats score will be the total of her races excluding her worst discardable score.
12PRIZES
12.1Prizes will be defined upon closure of registration.
13DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
13.1Competitors participate in the regatta and each race entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
