ARTistic Pursuits Early Elementary K-3 Book Two: Stories of Artists and their Art

Class Description: This art book focuses on famous and inspirational artists from the Baroque (13th Century) to the Academy Artists (18th Century). The student will study famous artists such as Vermeer, Michelangelo, and Giotto. Artistic creativity will involve techniques such as watercolor painting, oil pastels, and printmaking.

Learning Activities: Each week the student will work through one lesson of the book. They will read (or have read to them) a short, 10-minute lesson. The student will then look at an actual artist to see how they use that art concept. Following that, the student will do a hands-on project to apply that technique themselves. Students will produce one finished art project each week.
