Dear Second Grade Families,
Hello! Welcome to second grade! The following is a list of supplies you will need for the upcoming school year.
Required:
q 2 pocket folders, vinyl are best
q 1 black and white marbled composition notebook
q 1 super-thin floppy three ring binder (1 inch is ideal!)
q 15-20 sharpened pencils (Keep a TON more at home too!)
q 1 handheld pencil sharpener with cover
q 1 box of 16-24 crayons
q 1 box of fat-tipped markers
q 3 thin-tipped dry erase marker
q 8 glue sticks (Keep a bunch more at home too!)
q 1 bag of pretzels (Used for back up snack supply)
q 1 container of antibacterial wipes
q 1 box of tissues
q $5 in an envelope labeled with your child’s name This will be used for homework boxes and supplies… you’ll learn more on that at Parents As Partners J
Optional:
q Children will be using I-pads/laptops and listening to books on CD. Our head phones are shared throughout the school. If you would like your child to have their own set, please label and send them in.
q Children will be listening to books on CD. If you have a handheld discman, label and send it in. Do not feel you need to buy one.
Teacher Wish List (not required by any means, but much appreciated!):
* 3x5 inch index cards * band aids * paper towels *hand sanitizer
* double AA Batteries *Post-it notes (various sizes, shapes, and colors)
Children sit at tables and share communal supplies, so there is no need to label items with your child’s name. Please purchase some extra supplies that are on sale now (especially pencils, glue sticks, erasers, and folders) as you will need them through the year and may not want to run to the store. Folders and notebooks will be labeled with a sticker from me on the first day of school.
