Abercarn CC Development Plan

1.  Abercarn CC Mission Statement

To ensure all cricket development activities are planned, resourced and delivered through Abercarn Cricket Club section committee.

To ensure that children throughout the Abercarn district are given cricket opportunities to allow them to reach the level of cricket they aspire too and their ability allows.

To ensure that there is a structured club frame work that is integrated with any regional development group and the county development plan.

To ensure the club plan follows the national strategy for cricket

2 Abercarn CC aims.

2.1 Identify officers and key volunteers to support the development of cricket for young people within the Abercarn district.

2.2 Identify key officers to offer representation on the local development group

2.3 Identify a facility strategy that ensures a quality and safe practice and playing surface for club, district and county board use as well as local schools.

2.4 Advertise and work in partnership with local primary link teachers, schools sports co-ordinators, East Wales Cricket Development Manager, to create and sustain a robust working coaching programme to encourage new junior players within Abercarn CC.

2.5 Offer the Cricket Board of Wales ground use for junior district cricket, kwik cricket festivals and representative matches.

2.6  Provide the best facilities financially possible by 2015, but identify areas in need of financial support and human resource with the aid of volunteer recruitment.

2.7  Provide a structured opportunity for the development of girls cricket within Abercarn CC by 2015

2.8  To have and increase the number and quality of cricket coaches within Abercarn CC and have 10 active Level I coaches, 5 level II coaches and 1 level III coach by 2015

2.9  To have 1 trained ground staff by 2015

2.10  To maintain 2 child protection welfare officers

2.11  Maintaining “Clubmark” accreditation is a priority

2.12  Ensure there are junior boys sections playing league cricket at U9, U11, U13 & U15 level

2.13  Ensure there opportunities for girls to play junior cricket at U11 and U13 by 2015

2.14  Ensure there is an open door policy to provide equal cricket opportunities for people from ethnic backgrounds.

2.15 To ensure Abercarn CC supports Cricket Board of Wales Disability teams have access to play representative games at Abercarn CC.

2.16 Offer senior league cricket at 1st XI and 2nd XI levels on Saturday afternoons and regular Sunday cricket for a senior XI and gain promotion to the Glamorgan & Monmouthshire Cricket League by 2015.

2.17 Provide qualified coaches to support Gwent Young Cricketers Support and Representative squads.
