iMovie
Although WMM can be used on any PC to edit video clips shot on an iPhone or iPad, users of these devices may choose to use iMovie right on their Apple devices. It isn’t free, but it’s available for download from Apple or from the app store. Much like Windows Movie Maker, a few steps need to be taken when you are done with a project so it is viewable on devices not carrying iMovie software.
· Sharing projects edited on a Mac so they are viewable on other devices:
o Go to the “share” button located at top of the toolbar
o Select either “Export Movie…” or “Export using Quicktime”
o Name your video project, click “Export” or “Save” depending on what you selected in step 2
o On the desktop, you will find your exported video clip, Click and Drag your video clip to your jump drive, external drive, etc.
· Sharing projects edited on an iOS (iphone, iPad) device:
o If you want to share your finished project or trailer to your computer so you can view it there, share it to the Camera Roll.
§ If the marquee screen isn’t showing, tap the My Projects button .
§ On the screen, scroll to center the project you want to share.
§ Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, and then tap Camera Roll.
§ Select the size you want to export.Medium produces a smaller file that uploads more quickly to the web. HD produces a larger file that’s great for viewing on high-definition devices.
§ When the export is complete, the finished project is copied to the Camera Roll. You can access the Camera Roll within the Photos app on your iPhone. The next time you connect your device to your computer, you can sync the project to a photo application, such as iPhoto, on your computer.
