The trend shows a gradual increase in incidents over the last twelvemonths.
The forecast is that incident numbers will decrease slowly over the Winter months. /
Response Time
The average response timewas 14 seconds over the target, and 19 seconds slower than October 2017. This still represents an improvement on the response times compared to Summer 2017 and is similar in performance to November 2016.
The forecast is for average response times to remain constant at around 10 minutesfor the next three months.
There were 83 call outs to Road Traffic Collisions in the month and the average response time to attend these incidents was 10minutes and 38 seconds. /
Response Times by Station – Whole Time
This chart looks at overall average response times. This is from the time the call was received at Control to arrival at incident.
Of the Whole Time stations, Leigh and Basildon were on average fastest to arrive at an incident.
10 of the 12 stations had average times inside the 10 minute target, compared to 9 in October and 7in September.
Loughton and Chelmsford stations took the longest on average to attendincident.
The average response from a Whole Time station was 9 minutes and 28 seconds, which is 8 seconds longer per incidentcompared to last month. /
Response Times by Station
On-Call
Of the 38On-Call stations, Leaden Roding and Hawkwell were on average fastest to arrive at an incident.
9 of the stations had average times inside the10 minute target compared to 13 last month
Wethersfield and Thaxtedtook the longest on average to attend an incident.
The average response time from anOn-Call/Day Crew station was 11minutes and 52 seconds, which is 52 seconds longer than last month. /
Whole Time / Day Crew Station Availability
In November, 5 of the stations met the 98% availability target which was the same as the previous month.
5 of the top 6 stations were based in the South West of the County, with Dovercourt (NE) making a significant improvement to be the station with the highest availability.
Great Baddow made a significant improvement on the previous month, however it was still the station with the lowest availability. /
On-Call
Station Availability
In November,13On-Call stations met the 90% target which was the same as the previous month.
5 of the top 6 stations were based in the North East of the County with Weeley having the highest availability for the third consecutive month.
For the second consecutive month, Thaxted and Sible Hedinghamwere the stations with the lowest availability. /
Number of Fires
The number of fires has fallen by 14% in the month to 339 (from 395 last month).
This continues the general trend since June. This also represents a decrease of 6% on the equivalent month in 2016. The trend shows a gradual increase in incidents over the last 12 months.
The forecast is that fire incidents will continue to decrease slowly over the Winter months. /
Primary Fires
The number of Primary Fires has fallen by 14% to 163 (from 190 last month). There has also been a fall of 51 fires (24%) on the same period last year.
The trend indicates a gradual decrease in the last twelve months, with the forecast indicating a slight decrease over the Winter months. /
Secondary Fires
The number of secondary fires has fallen 16% in the month to 170 (from 202)
In comparison to last November however, the 170 secondary fires represent an increase of 30% (from 131) /
False Alarm
False alarms have increased for the second consecutive month, with a 7% increase to 562 (from 526). This is consistent with a 9% increase from 517 last November.
The forecast is that incident numbers will continue to increase over the next three months. /
