Wheaton Divorce Attorneys Earn 2018 Super Lawyers Recognition
Attorneys William J. Stogsdill, Brett T. Williamson, and Christopher Zaruba of The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C., have been nominated as 2018 Super Lawyers Rising Stars in Illinois. Attorney Anthony Sammarco was also named to the Super Lawyer list.
The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C., located in Wheaton, Illinois, announces that attorneys William J. Stogsdill, Brett T. Williamson, and Christopher Zaruba have been selected for inclusion in the 2018 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in Illinois. Attorney Anthony Sammarco was also named to the Super Lawyer list. This year marks the second straight Super Lawyers nod for both Stogsdill and Williamson, while the honor is the first for Zaruba and Sammarco.

On an annual basis, Super Lawyers recognizes the top attorneys in each state based on peer evaluations, endorsements and independent research. Super Lawyers Rising Stars account for only 2.5 percent of attorneys in Illinois, and qualifying attorneys must be 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less.

Stogsdillgraduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in financial management from Clemson University, and went on to earn his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Stogsdill is admitted to practice law in both Illinois and Florida. In 2015, Stogsdill was named a "10 Best Under 40 Attorney" by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. He concentrates his practice in family law, including complex financial estates, custody disputes, the negotiation of property and orders of protection.
He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, The Florida Bar, the Robert E. Jones AIC of DuPage County and the DuPage County Bar Association, where he has served on the Young Lawyers' Committee. In 2012, Stogsdill co-authored a chapter within the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Handbook entitled, "Division of Retirement Benefits in Dissolution Proceedings."

Williamson concentrates his practice in family law and handles cases related to complex divorce, including: financial matters, custody disputes, child support and the division of property.
He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, The Chicago Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association, where he served as a mentor to new attorneys. He also serves as general counsel and associate board president for Griffith Tutoring. From 2015-2016, Williamson was named a "10 Best Under 40 Attorney" by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys, and The National Trial Lawyers organization also named him a "Top 40 Under 40" attorney.
Christopher J. Zarubajoined The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. in June of 2014. Prior to that, Chris was an Assistant State's Attorney at the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office from 2009-2014. Chris began his career at the State's Attorney's office handling traffic and misdemeanor offenses, including DUI's, orders of protection, and domestic batteries. In 2012, Chris received the Outstanding Misdemeanor Prosecutor of the Year award. He was promoted to the Felony Juvenile Division where he worked closely with DCFS in handling cases involving abused or neglected children. After working in the Juvenile Division, Chris was again promoted to the Felony Trial Division where he handled serious offenses including drug offenses, burglaries, and aggravated batteries. During his time at the State's Attorney's Office, Chris prosecuted over 300 cases to trial, including many jury trials. Prior to leaving the State's Attorney's Office, Chris was selected to participate in the National District Attorney's Association annual seminar on Trial Advocacy which he successfully completed. Now Chris primarily focuses his practice on the area of family law.
In January of 2014, Chris received the honor of being admitted to practice in front of the United States Supreme Court in Washington D.C. He is a member of the United States Supreme Court, Illinois State, and DuPage County bar associations.
Anthony Sammarcoobtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1979 and thereafter his Law Degree in 1982 from the DePaul University, College of Law in Chicago. He was admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the United States District Court Bar in 1982.
Since that time he has maintained active memberships in the Will County Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association and has served on its Matrimonial Law Committee, the Illinois State Bar Association and in 2006-2007 was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Section Counsel on Judicial Evaluations. In 2014-2015 he served as a Member of the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Counsel and currently for 2015-2016 will serve as a Member of the ISBA ARDC Section Counsel.
Anthony joined The Stogsdill Law Firm, P.C. in the fall of 1993. His experience ranges from simple divorce matters to the most complex cases involving the classification and distribution of property, the amount, duration and reviewability of maintenance, the calculation of income for purposes of support, reimbursement from the marital to the non-marital estate and vice versa, adoptions contested on the basis of unfitness, proceedings under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act for the award, extension, modification and/or vacatur of Orders of Protection as well as appellate proceedings in the Appellate Court of Illinois both First and Second Districts, post-judgment proceedings for modification, enforcement, reconsideration and/or vacatur of final judgments and the drafting and enforcement of pre-nuptial agreements.
