MX8000 Security Receiver

The MX8000 Security receiver is a central station digital receiver. See the MX8000 Site for more information and documentation.

Advantages

The MX8000 Security Receiver supports up to 36 incoming telephone lines in a single receiver. You can Link up to three MX8000 receivers on a single automation port, allowing you to monitor up to 108 telephone lines. The receiver line cards support most major digital communication formats. For a list see the MX8000 Site. In addition, the receiver interfaces with AlarmNet receiving equipment like the 7810RT transceiver, the 7810iR Internet receiver and the 7810iR-ent Enterprise network receiver. The receiver supports Caller ID, making it easier to trace incoming calls when necessary. It also supports listen-in services. All line card programming is stored in the central processor unit, so cards can be quickly replaced without emergency programming.

Benefits

The receiver saves space by concentrating three phone lines into each of 12 line cards (36 incoming lines for each receiver). The MX8000 is compatible with three line card types: MX8000-LC1 (1 line), MX8000-LC3 (3 line), and MX8000-LRR (AlarmNet Services).

Connect up to three MX8000 Receivers in tandem. Adding up to two MX8000 slave receivers allows you to monitor up to 108 incoming telephone lines on a single automation communication port.

The MX8000 can be used as a direct replacement for Ademco 685 and CPP receivers (The MX8000 Receiver uses only eight single-line cards in this mode).

Preparation

The MX8000 Receiver mounts into standard equipment racks. Plug the MX8000 into a 120V electrical outlet. Route a grounding wire to the back of the receiver location. Route the serial cable from the Automation computer communications port to the back of the receiver. Route up to 36 standard telephone lines to the back of the receiver location. Provide a parallel printer or listed spooling software for the receiver. Be sure to enable Caller ID for the telephone lines. To cause multiple receiver line cards to answer the same incoming telephone number, ask the telephone company to group telephone lines into “hunt groups.” If using listen-in features, make appropriate connections and preparations.

AlarmNet service registration and an 800 phone line is required to route backup AlarmNet-A, AlarmNet-C, AlarmNet-M, and AlarmNet-I messages from AlarmNet to this receiver using an 800 telephone line. See www.alarmnet.com for more information.

AlarmNet Communication Services

AlarmNet Communication Services provide line supervision, encryption, redundancy, and flexibility that benefit all central stations. With AlarmNet, critical system messages are delivered in a fraction of the time it takes for a phone call. Message routing occurs through the fastest available service through a special high security, control-channel cellular signal (M), through a secure encrypted internet connection (I), or through AlarmNet’s 800+ service (P). The system regularly tests the vital communication pathway to each site, ensuring a good connection when the critical moment occurs.
