Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:

The Residential Treatment Program Coordinator supports Mending Hearts' mission of providing the highest quality care possible in a cost-effective manner for women and families who are at risk for or who are suffering froma dual diagnosis one of which includes chemical dependency. Treatment encompasses the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of recovery by offering a safe, loving and healing environment, combining professional excellence and the principles of the Twelve Steps.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Residential Treatment Program Director is the department head for all residential treatment services. Responsible for:

Monitoring approved program concepts and procedures; monitoring all admissions, discharges, and extensions of treatment; monitoring and ensuring that clients are admitted, transitioned into the treatment process and discharged in an orderly fashion; helping to maintain all treatment schedules, staff schedules, and arbitrates staff issues along with HR ; providing overall management for Residential staff.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures that a welcoming, safe and healing environment is maintained for each patient and family throughout the continuum of care.

Leads process groups weekly as required by licensure.

Conducts individual counseling with Residential Treatment residents.

Maintains HIPAA compliance.

Supervises Residential staff - Program Assistant and Monitors

Ensures the patients' care is properly coordinated.

Oversee the facilitation of individual, group and family counseling and/or therapy sessions, within scope of practice defined by licensure and clinical privileges.

Documentation of treatment for Residential clients including weekly staffing reviews, ASAMs, narratives, discharge and aftercare planning.

Participates in community activities and trainings as assigned.

Monitors Residential schedule and ensures activities are covered and on time.

Assists with interviews and hiring of Monitors, ensuring all training requirements are met.

Collects all Quality Assurance Program information, completes reports and serves on QA Committee.

Monitors and insuresdocuments clinical activities in patient record according to established policies and procedures is followed and proper training is provided to all employees as to how this should be carried out.

Intervenes in crises to deescalate situation and resolve crises, using events as entries into therapeutic process for patient.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Masters Degree required

Two years experience involving addictions related treatment and/orequivalent experience in job related activities. LPC/LADAC desired.

OTHER SKILLS

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to push/pull up to 40 pounds; ability to speak, hear, see, sit, walk, stand, reach and handle; ability to speak, read and write in English; excellent interpersonal skills; good problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; good dexterity; proficient in use of Word, Outlook, Apricot and office equipment; driver’s license with F endorsement; understanding of 12 Step programs and philosophy; Crisis intervention, CPR/First Aid certified or eligible; active listening skills; ability to maintain a therapeutic environment using a variety of behavior management skills; ability to deescalate a person in crisis in a calm and supportive manner; knowledge of and ability to apply information regarding cultural/age/population specific characteristics to patient care in assigned area;If recovering, two (2) years of verifiable abstinence required with five (5) years of verifiable abstinence preferred; active participation in appropriate 12-Step program preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions. Position may be subject to night and/or weekend work. Position may have direct contact with dual diagnosed women with behavior problems (aggressive, volatile, threatening, etc.). Position may be subject to local travel to courts, jails and other sites.
