Discuss bridge building
What if the county decided to build another bridge across Long Lake? The bridge would need to span 300 feet. 1cm=10feet. What would you design? You need to build a model, that is most efficient.
9/28-10/2/15 / ET: Get a bridge building rule page and start reading it.
LT: Design and build a bridge to hold maximum weight using specific criteria and constraints.
Discuss bridge building rules.
1. Span 30cm
2. Hold 5x5cm loading block with chain in middle
3. Use 30 or fewer popsicle sticks
4. Score is based on weight held divided by number of popsicle sticks used.
Start on designs. / No Class / Bridges
ET: Work on your bridge designs.
LT: Design and build a bridge to hold maximum weight using specific criteria and constraints.
Discuss science Fridays.
Continue designs, when a complete blueprint is made, can start on bridge. / Start preparing for science Fridays and science demos or your own science investigation.
