Criteria for Hamburg Lions Scholarship

Selection of awardees shall be performed by the Hamburg Lions Scholarship Committee and confirmed by the Hamburg Lions Club. The selections shall be based on the following criteria used as guidelines:

1)Graduating high school senior with a Hamburg address accepted or applied to an accredited further education institution or,

2)Graduating high school senior child, grandchild, or sibling of a Hamburg Lion or,

3) Leo club member of Central High School, Sibley East High School, Glencoe-Silver Lake High School or Mayer Lutheran High School with a Hamburg address and,

4)Demonstrated public service in a manner which reflects Lions Club principles. (Lions Club Motto: We Serve)

Notes:

a. The number of winners will be determined on an annual basis by the Hamburg Lions Club.

b. The amount of the scholarship award is $500.

c. Winners of the scholarships will be informed at award ceremonies or commencement exercises of the receiving students.

d. Students will receive the monetary award after presenting a certificate or transcript to

the Hamburg Lions Club for the successful completion of their first semester or

quarter of school as a full time student, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4 point

system.

e. The award will be administered by the Hamburg Lions Club. A check will be issued

by the Hamburg Lions Club made out jointly to the student and the school they

attended.

f. Applications should be received by the Hamburg Lions Club on or before April 6th,

2015. Completed applications should be sent to:

g. If no student adequately demonstrates the selection criteria, Hamburg Lions Club may

choose to not award a scholarship.
