FURTHER POINTS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER AND THEN ADD ALL OTHER POSSIBLE RISKS TO THE RISK ASSESSMENT FOR YOUR PARTICULAR EVENT

NOTE - RISK ASSESSMENT IS A CONTINUING PROCESS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EVENT. YOU NEED TO BE ALERT TO RISKS AT ALLTIMES

Venue – consider the location. Are you beside the sea, is there any water feature in the grounds …..

Weather - what weather can you expect? What insects may you encounter? Consider clothing and other precautions needed, e.g. sun screen, insect repellent.

Activities - consider everything you are doing and what risks need to be mitigated, e.g. for adventurous activities check Manual for requirements and qualifications of instructors. Remember everyday items involve risk, e.g. scissors.

Catering - consider all risks including knives, boiling water, cooker rings/ovens etc.

Food hygiene requirements to minimise risk of food poisoning. Don't forget about hand washing and food storage.

Food allergies and dietary requirements.

Transport to and from event, including road safety - what are the risks and what are you doing to minimise them?

Stranger danger

Alcohol and drugs policy
