DISLOCATED WORKERS CENTER CASE MANAGER
Reports to: Director of the Dislocated Workers Center.
I. BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for implementation of programs offered via specific funding sources. Duties and responsibilities include, but not restricted to, the following:
I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide orientation to inquirers on available services.
- Complete dislocated worker intakes/assessments for eligible applicants using IWDS case management system. Communicate program rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and goals/objectives of program, verbally and/or in writing.
- Identify target populations eligible for program services. Recruit potential participants through marketing and public relation efforts.
- Make referrals to – and coordinate services with – other partner agency staff, as identified by participants’ goals, interests, and needs.
- Administer interest inventories, the Test of Adult Basic Education, and interpret results for participants.
- Assist participants in writing resumes, cover letters, completing job applications, and assist clients in job search.
- Counsel and advise persons seeking information regarding approved training programs.
- Analyze and evaluate current state and local labor market information in order to identify and convey job opportunities and career information to customers.
- Facilitate a collaborative arrangement between the IVCC and Sauk Valley Dislocated Workers Centers and the Illinois Employment and Training Center offices in LaSalle, Ottawa, and Sterling.
- Develop and implement marketing plans, ideas, materials, etc., to promote and increase public awareness of programs and services. Work closely with Director when deciding a plan of action.
- Participate in cross training of employees involved in the local one-stop system.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree or combination of Associate’s Degree and 2 years comparable work experience required.
· Understanding of community resources relevant to employment and training programs.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
· Must have excellent customer service and computer literacy skills, transportation, and awareness of needs of specific target populations.
