Staff Member Advisor
¨ Resident Volunteer – This award is intended to recognize an individual who has donated his/her time, talents, and effort in some way to improve life within the residence hall community. It includes any House Board member (not House Governor), Student Conduct Board Representative, Pointer Pals, resident volunteers, students in volunteer organizations, etc. This is an opportunity for those persons who work “behind the scenes” and are so critical to our success to achieve recognition. This may be especially relevant for freshmen.
¨ Staff Member – This award gives recognition to any person who lives in the residence halls as a paid position: RHA Exec. Board, CA, AD, ARC, or any specialty position. The recipient must have shown outstanding leadership abilities throughout the entire year in their formal position. This award will recognize their job performance, dedication, and personal strive to make the residence halls a better place to live.
¨ Hall Government Leader – This award is structured to recognize a Hall Government Head Board member, or committee chairperson who has made unusually good contributions to their residence hall community. The recipient must have excelled in his/her leadership, social, and academic capacities, and provided a superior model for improvement of the residence hall system.
¨ Advisor – The advisor award is intended for an individual involved in the residence halls that is acting as a mentor, supervisor, or advisor toward you while living in the residence halls. (i.e. Faculty Mentor, FIG Faculty, Residence Hall Director, advisor to your student organization, etc.).
Please write an explanation for why you believe this person should be recognized with this prestigious award. Remember, we know you have great respect for those you nominate, but focus on WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Please do not nominate just because you like someone. Christina is being nominated by Neale Hall because she helps everyone in Neale Hall. She is constantly inviting people to talk about anything they need help with and she is also always asking if there is any way she can improve. She has been going out of her way to make sure that the Neale Hall LT becomes better leaders. She is always cheerful and I don't know how she does it. Her happiness seems to seep into the walls of the residence hall and make everything else brighter. Whenever anyone needs help she is there and she is always very suportive. Christina is a prime candidate for Advisor of the Year.
Nominations need to be emailed to Julie Zsido, NRHH Advisor, at jzsido by Friday, March 19, 2010, at 12:00 noon.
