Disclaimer: The included files are only to be use in the event you forget your password, pin or pattern lock. If are able to access your Vidao tablet please delete this document and included files.
The files provided will require you to use “WinRaR” to extract the files. If you do not have WinRaR please go to for download and installation.
The provided instructions will only work with a Windows based PC.
Installing ADB driver.
- Right click on the file “USBDriver_adb.rar”, and select extract here.
- A folder with the installation files will show up on your desktop as shown below.
- Connect the Tablet to PC using a USB cable. The first time when connecting the device with the PC, it will prompt to install the ADB driver automatically. If there was no prompt when the tablet was connected to the PC skip to step 9.
- Select (Next) and let the installation continue till finish.
- If you see a message (Files needed) as showed below select (Browse), and a new window will appear.If not skip to step 18.
- Locate the files on the Folder (USBDriver_adb).
- Open the folder (i386), select the file (winusbcoinstaller2.dll), click (Open) and then click (Ok).
- When the installation is complete select (Finish).
- If there was no prompt when the tablet was connected to the PC check the DeviceManager.
- To check the Device manager from your main desktop right click (My Computer) and select (Properties).
- From the TABs select (Hardware) and then (Device Manager).
- If you see (Android Composite ADB Interface) skip to (ADB tool) Installationstep 18.
- If you see an exclamation mark in your Device Manager as showed below you need to manually install the drivers. Right click on “Android” and select (Update driver).
- Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” and click “Next”
- Click “Browse” to select the driver in the folder “USBDriver_adb”, and Click“Next”.
- Wait until the installation finished and click (Finish).
- If the driver is installed successfully, you can see in the “Device Manager” as “Android Composite ADB Interface”.
Installing ADB tool
- Right click the file “adb.rar”, and select extract here.
- A folder with the installation files will show up on your desktop as shown below.
- Open the folder “adb”, copy and paste or move the three files “adb.exe”, “AdbWinApi.dll” and “AdbWinUsbApi.dll” in the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32. To do so open (My Computer) and double click on your C:\ drive, then Windows and then system32. When files are copied or moved close your open windows.
- Click the “Start” menu and select the “Run” option.
- In the “Run” dialog box, enter “cmd”.
- A new cmd.exe window will appear.
- Type “adb shell” and press “Enter” to confirm if ADB is installed successfully. If it shows “root@android:/#”, it means the ADB is installed successfully.
- Click and run the file “password.dat”. The tablet will reboot and delete the forgotten password.
- Once your tablet reboots you can access your main screen by sliding the lock to the right. If you had a Pattern lock simply draw any pattern to access your main screen.
- You can now close any open windows from your desktop.
