Garfield Heights In-House Hockey/Learn to Skate Program
For the Beginning Hockey Player – Ages 3 – 13
The Garfield Heights Municipal Hockey and Municipal Skating Programs invite you to become a part of an introductory activity for those who would love to play hockey and for the beginner who wants to learn to skate. What better time to learn to play the game, so that you can play for our municipal travel program and for your local High School team in the future. Garfield Heights has the most affordable hockey program in North East Ohio, easily accessible and centrally located near I-480.
FEES: $40.00 residents or $60.00 non-residents, plus the cost of a Garfield Heights Recreation Annual ID card, $10.00 residents or $35.00 for non-residents. Two (2) current utility bills required for proof of residency for all residents, and a copy of the child’s birth certificate is needed for everyone at the time of registration. A cash deposit of $20.00 will be required for equipment & locker before it will be issued to the child.
Avoid late fee of $15.00 and pre-register by deadline dates: Friday, September 29thfor Session I, or Friday, December 8th for Session II, by 4:00 pm.
You can experience hockey and learn how to skate, in a nine-week session which will include use of necessary protective equipment. All you need is skates and a stick. Not sure if you want to register your child…. Come and join us on Saturday, September 16th at 11:15 am for In-House tryout/orientation day, FREE OF CHARGE! (December 2nd for session 2 at 11:15 am) If your child likes it, the office will be acceptingregistrations that day and equipment will be distributed to your child. If you don’t have skates yet, rental skates will be available for the beginner skater at no additional fee.
Children will be divided into 2 Groups. Group A designed for the beginner skater with little to no experience who is interested in playing hockey and does not know how to skate. Group B designed as an introduction to the sport of hockey consisting of the basic fundamentals.
All classes are held on Saturdays at 11:15 am – 12:15 pm
8- week Session 1: Sept. 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21, 29, November 4, 11
8-week Session 2: December 9, 16, January 6, 13, 20, 27 February 3, 10
