REGISTERED MANAGER/TEAM MANAGER

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the line management of a team of Shared Lives workers (either the East team, the Mid team or the West team). You will be the social care lead for your area, supporting any complex case work and being the day to day decision maker about all aspects of casework in your area. You will be a CQC registered manager for Shared Lives South West. You will build excellent operational relationships internally and externally with key staff and agencies in your area.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Leadership
- To be the social care lead for your area in all areas of practice and service delivery, working with and supported by the registered manager and the nominated individual.
- To be an active member of the management team making a strategic contribution to the management, development and success of the overall organisation
- To work closely and cooperatively with the other team managers to ensure consistent practice, clear communication and consensus on operational issues.
- To support the effective management of the organisations resources, working with the head of business and finance and the chief executive.
Registered manager
- Be a CQC registered manager for Shared Lives South West and meet the requirements of the CQC registered manager role (after suitable period of induction and probation).
- Ensure that our services are compliant with the requirements of CQC working with the Nominated Individual and other registered managers.
- Have oversight of complex case issues, serious incidents, safeguarding, complaints and service breakdowns and support all team managers to handle these effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure the nominated individual is kept appropriately informed of all complex case issues, serious incidents, safeguarding, complaints and service breakdowns
- Co-ordinate the response to any notice of inspection including preparing the PIR and other evidence
- Develop and review operational policy working with the other team managers in line with organisational guidance.
Team and individual management
- To line manage and develop Shared Lives coordinators and Shared Lives assistants, ensuring consistent working practices and enabling them to provide high quality support to Shared Lives carers and service users.
- To support Shared Lives workers to develop autonomy in their work and to increase their problem solving skills and abilities.
- To ensure the effective management of complex cases, serious incidents, safeguarding and service breakdowns working with the relevant Shared Lives worker in liaison with the registered manager.
- To monitor the workload of each team member and ensure that each Shared Lives worker in your team meets the required standards of performance, workload and professional practice.
- * (as applicable) To manage the administration team in your office on a day to day business and support them in the administrative work relevant to the delivery of Shared Lives services, working closely with the Head of Business and Finance
- To carry out supervision and annual reviews with all staff you line managein accordance with organisational policy and to meet individual support and development needs.
- To convene and chair effective meetings within your team as required and to attend and actively contribute to joint Shared Lives team meetings
Operation of Shared Lives services
- To ensure that all Shared Lives carer applications are processed in a timely and efficient way, allocated efficiently within the team and that suitable applicants are appropriately assessed and presented to the Shared Lives South West approval panel.
- To ensure that all necessary information about referrals, matching and placements is captured and recorded within the team, following agreed procedures and that accurate, timely and concise records are maintained on all aspects of Shared Lives services in your team.
- To maintain an overview of vacancies within your area and manage the allocation of all new referrals received by your team, ensuring there is effective liaison with statutory agencies, family members and Shared Lives carers about the progress of referrals, matches and the agreement of funds.
- To ensure that all Shared Lives carers and service users in your team are offered timely, appropriate, professional support by the Shared Lives team.
- To organise and chair local carer meetings and events and ensure that an appropriate programme of carer training is delivered in your area.
- To enable the involvement and participation of and consultation with service users in your areas as set out in the service user involvement strategy.
- To ensure that all complaints and concerns about Shared Lives services are dealt with in a timely manner and escalatedappropriately to the registeredmanager and/or the nominatedindividual as required.
- To ensure effectiveliaisonwith the funding and benefits team.
- To act as panel adviser as and when required.
- To contribute to the overall marketing/awareness raising plan for the organisation and support agreed promotional or marketing activity in your area working with the communications officer
Working with other care professionals and agencies
- To liaise with relevant care professionals and agencies on matters relating to the well-being of any service user in a Shared Lives South West arrangement and the needs and well-beingof Shared Lives carers.
- To develop local working relationships with community teams, key professionalsand otheragencies in your localityin order to raise awareness of Shared Lives services and Shared Lives South West.
- To ensure contract compliance with all purchasing arrangements and support and develop ongoing commissioner/purchaser relationships and prudcemtn and tuning processes in your rea working with the chief executive and head of business and finance.
General duties
- To keep up to date with all relevant local and national policy relevant to Shared Lives and Shared Lives South West.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure observance of the Shared Lives South West confidentiality policy.
- To contribute to the active development of the service to meet the objectives of Shared Lives South West
- Any other duties as directed by the line managerthat may be appropriate to the post.
