Camp Goals: Our goal is to have great wrestlers training at a high intensity together in preparation for the upcoming season and for the Pre-Season Nationals tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa on November 3-4, 2012. This camp will focus on conditioning, technique, circuit training, and live wrestling. It will focus on individual and group principles. Camp will have an obstacle course team competition as well as an end-of-the-camp-tournament for all participants. This camp is for serious wrestlers that are advanced in the sport and who are looking to put an edge on their shape, fine tune their technique, make gains in strength, work out with new partners and wrestle some live matches in preparation for the 2012-13 Season!
What to Bring: Wrestling clothes, wrestling shoes, running shoes, warm clothes for outdoor conditioning, towels, soap, shampoo, snacks, drinks, spending money (optional).
Meals: Camp will provide apples, bananas, granola bars for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. We will also provide lunch for the wrestlers on Saturday. All other meals, snacks, or drinks are the responsibility of the wrestlers.
Team Competitions: Friday night we will randomly select teams. We want random teams so that our campers can get to know kids from different clubs, schools, and states. Team points will be scored in the obstacle course, conditioning workouts, and the tournament.
Tournament: We will end our camp with 5-6 man round robin wrestling tournament. Wrestlers will be paired as closely as possible based on age and weight. The individual tournament will be scored for a team competition also (1 pt. for every win, 2pt for every major, 3pt for every tech fall, 4pt for every fall/FFT).
Rules: Headgear is not required; however singlets are required for dual meet competitions. Periods will be 1-2-2. High school rules will be used for all dual matches. 15 minute minimum between each match (unless both wrestlers agree to wrestle before the time limit)
