Duties of the roleOverall purpose of the role / Overall Purpose of the Role
To undertake research that results in peer-reviewed publications in the field of Finance and or Finance, building up and extending existing research traditions in this field and working in collaborative research teams within and across disciplines in the wider university.
To develop teaching materials and lead the development of programmesand modulesin Financecontributing to high quality education within the School.
To contribute to the development of a strong researchand teaching culture as part of theFaculty’s academic community.
Main duties and responsibilities /
- Enhance the School’s research profile through a planned and well executed research programme within the area of Finance.
- Plan and carry out high quality research and publications appropriate for return to REF2020, including projects that meet REF objectives for impact.
- Gain financial support for research, work on collaborative projects and research initiatives with companies and organisations where appropriate.
- Be actively involved in nationally and internationally recognised professional bodies in Finance.
- Be pro-active in presenting research regularly and representing the Faculty.
- Mentor and support colleagues and more junior faculty and leading research projects.
- Develop high quality teaching materials in the field of Finance, including experience based learning opportunities and lead development and implementation of new programmes and modules in Finance
- Continually develop and share innovative teaching practices.
- Contribute to new programme development, including executive and community education where appropriate.
- Supervise student practical and research based projects.
- Participate in the student life, community and governance of the Leicester Castle Business School as required, including through engagement in the development of the School, in recruitment activities and corporate relations
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.
- From time to time, as required, to contribute to the Faculty’s overseas provision, including short intensive-course at partner institutions.
