PURPOSE
The Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau Ag Committee, Beadle County Farm Bureau and South Dakota Farmers Union are selecting and honoring a farmer or farmers who best represent(s) farming and ranching and the spirit of agriculture in east central South Dakota.
ELIGIBILITY
The recipients must currently be actively engaged in farming or ranching. Deadline is Dec. 31, 2014.
HOW TO ENTER
Anyone other than the recipient may complete the nomination. Nominees may include a single individual, a married couple or any combination of immediate family who are actively working for the farming operation in Huron or the surrounding area. Nomination forms can be emailed to or mailed to the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau at 1725 Dakota Ave South, Huron, SD 57350. SELECTION PROCESS
Judges will be chosen by the Chamber Ag Committee, Beadle County Farm Bureau and South Dakota Farmers Union and a winner will be selected from the entries received.
AWARD PRESENTATION
The Farmer of the Year Award will be presented with a check for $500 sponsored by Beadle County Farm Bureau and SD Farmers Union, and an official acrylic award during the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau’s Farmers Appreciation Banquet on January 26, 2015 at the Huron Event Center.
