IAJHSC HONOR COUNCIL APPLICATION
The IAJHSC Honor Council Award gives special recognition to those schools that have designed exemplary
programs for their junior high/middle school Student Councils. "Exemplary" is defined as participating in IAJHSC programs and sponsoring activities in each of the areas listed below. Please see the description of this award in the IAJHSC Advisor's Resource File on the website for examples of activities designed to meet the goals in the specific areas of the Honor Council Program.
To be eligible for this award, schools must have a minimum ofsix(6) points in the IAJHSC participation category and must complete 3 projects in each of the other categories listed below. If your council has completed more than the required number of projects in each category, it would be appropriate to list these also just in case other listed activities/projects are not accepted. The last page of the application provides space for additional projects to be listed. All applications will be carefully screened.
This application should be completed based on participation in IAJHSC programs and completion of
activities by your Student Council from State Convention 2017 to State Convention 2018. In addition, to
be eligible for this award, schools must submit a student written article for the IAJHSC website by March 9, 2018. A copy of the confirmation email showing receipt of the student-written article must be included with this application.

To be processed, an application must contain:1. A minimum of 6 IAJHSC participation points
2. Proper documentation of IAJHSC participation
3. Required number of projects in each category
4. The purpose of, description of, and evaluation of
each listed project
5. All required signatures on first page of application

Honor Council Filing Information:
Required Student Written Article Deadline: March 9, 2018
Email Confirmation Deadline: No required email confirmations will be issued after March 16, 2018. This will give you up to one (1) week to prepare your application and documentation for mailing. Latest mailing date should be March 23, 2018, depending on your location in the state. Postmarked dates will no longer be used.
Final Filing Deadline: All applications must be RECEIVED by March 28, 2018. The Honor Council Award will be denied if the application is not RECEIVED at the address below on time. Please plan your mailing to insure your application ARRIVESby the above date.
