A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Gerald Bernard Brenzel.

WHEREAS, Gerald Bernard Brenzel graduated from St. Brigid and St. Xavier High School, and attended the University of Louisville before entering the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brenzel was founder and CEO of Commonwealth Investment Group, Incorporated. He was the Regional Vice President, Branch Manager, and member of the board for Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange from 1964 to 1988, and former governor and board member of the National Association of Securities Dealers from 1964 to 1988. Mr. Brenzel also served on the boards for St. Anthony and NTS Mortgage Income Fund; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brenzel was the first and 20th president of Hurstbourne Country Club, an avid golfer, and a University of Louisville Cardinal fan; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brenzel departed this earthly life at the age of 84 on February 6, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brenzel is survived by his loving wife, Donna; three children, Jeff and his wife, Sally, Mark and his wife, Joy, and Sally and her husband, Mike; four grandchildren, Paul, Aaron, Stephanie, and Sarah; two stepdaughters, Kristin and Karin; and four step-grandchildren, John, Alexandria, Adelaide, and Abigail;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The members of the Senate, both individually and collectively, express their most profound and sincere condolences upon the passing of Gerald Bernard Brenzel, and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Gerald Bernard Brenzel.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit four copies of this Resolution to Donna Brenzel, P.O. Box 221041, Louisville, Kentucky 40252.
