VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

ELEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONAL INTERVENTIONIST

One (1) Reading and Math Interventionist

KEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Oak Park School District an immediate opening for one (1) Reading and Math Interventionist at Key Elementary School, for 2015- 2016 school year. This is a grant funded position funded by 31A grant funds to Oak Park Schools and is contingent upon grant approval.

Days: 20 hours per week – until end of the school year

Pay: $25.00/per hour

Program Description:

This program is designed to assist students operating below grade level in the area of language arts and mathematics. This program will provide additional support in the area of reading/math and is designed to supplement instruction already in place in the regular classroom. Students will be identified via Everyday Math unit assessments and MLPP assessments. Instruction shall be both individual and in small group settings. Progress will be monitored using the above named assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree and Elementary Certification.

2. Experience of familiarity with Oak Park Reading and Mathematics programs.

3. Demonstrate ability to improve students’ academic achievement.

4. Meets NCLB requirements as a highly qualified teacher.

5. Demonstrate dependability, initiative, and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervising small groups of students.

2. Instructing students in the area of language arts/math, or where needed.

3. Designing lessons to assist youth in achieving their individual instructional goals

4. Assessing student growth

5. Communicating with staff

6. Attend professional development sessions as deemed appropriate by building administrator.

7. Ongoing evaluation of program to ensure effectiveness.

8. Adjustment of program based on evaluation.

9. Any other duties assigned by principal or designee.
