Application Instructions:

Submit your application to with an electronic copy of your unofficial college transcript (if currently a student) or an electronic copy of your resume (if a working or unemployed professional). Application due midnight (HST) 12/2/2011.

Up to fifteen students will be selected for participation in the course through OWIB funding/scholarships. Additional students will be allowed on a space available basis either via onsite or online course instruction through UH Outreach College.

Eight students will be selected to participate in a practicum during summer 2012 following course completion. The practicum will involve a paid ($1320/month) part-time (20 hours/week) internship in a local architecture firm or at University of Hāwai‘i to engage in project-specific energy modeling. The goal of the practicum is to promote early through late design stage energy modeling as a tool to inform design within the firm. A certificate of completion will be awarded to all students who complete the course and exhibit proficiency in whole building energy modeling.

Applicants will be advised via e-mail of selection to participate in the course and whether or not their course fee will be covered by OWIB funding/ scholarship. For those selected to participate but not offered a scholarship, please register for the class through UH Outreach College and pay the course fee as indicated.

The classroom for the course as well as other course information will be posted on the ERDL website at www.uharchenvirolab.org prior to the first day of class.
