Service description
WADSA is the peak body for the participation of people with disabilities in sport & recreation in W A. Our vision “People with Disabilities are Empowered to participate in Sport & Recreation”. WADSA offers a range of activities, competitions and camps designed to stimulate, challenge, create enjoyment and develop independence whilst promoting individual choice. We specialise in modified activities and adaptive equipment to cater for all abilities including those with high support & complex needs. We have expertise in the personal assistance required to ensure that instruction and guidance allows the individual to participate to their maximum potential.
Camps: Can (conservation, adventure & nature) flexible camp options at community venues State-wide with customised options to suit individual needs.
Day Options: Activities offered include multi- sports, orienteering, archery, remotes, bush
art, photography, Nerf, aqua adventure, bush cooking and more. All activities have
components of skill development & community inclusion pathways.
Competitions: Include local participation competitions and State Championship events including multi-sports, orienteering, archery, ten pin bowling, golf, pool, athletics, swimming, boccia and more.
Customised Activities: If what you want is not on offer let us know & we will try to facilitate for you.
Equipment: Loan pack service available including assessment, review & upgrades. Equipment adapted as required to suit individual needs with the aim of facilitating independent recreation activity.
Festivals: Special events including unique come & try activities, themed events, festivals of fun, side-show alley, and demonstrations of adaptive equipment.

WADSA provides reasonable and necessary disability related supports and services to eligible individuals through contract with the Disability Services Commission. Individuals and their family or other stakeholders make independent decisions about which supports or services they wish to purchase and this guide is provided to support that process.
