As the Director of Communities & Population Health Development, I initiate research, develop coordination and program leadership for core regional population health initiatives, as well as coordinate and maintain the annual Population Health Strategic Plan for a regional health information exchange in northern Indiana. I provide insight for, and collaboration with the Marketing and Data Analytics departments to support provider led population management strategies to support effective and timely population health analytics innovation, implementation, and services.

Prior to joining MHIN, I served as the Community Health Research Program Manager at the Interdisciplinary Center for Network Science & Applications (iCeNSA) at the University of Notre Dame, and as the regional liaison for the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute’s Community Health Engagement Program (CHEP) in Northern Indiana, in addition to: the Research Associate Director at the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame;Faculty Affiliate at both the William J. Shaw Center for Children and Families and the Eck Institute for Global Health at the University of Notre Dame.

I was an inaugural member of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health's Regional Health Equity Council for Region V, as part of National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities, and have provided cultural competency training for Indiana State and County Health Departments; served as Co-chair of the Data Committee for the Indiana Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative empaneled by the Indiana State Department of Health; provided cultural consultation to the Indiana Community Health Worker Coalition; served as an Inaugural member of the Indiana Commission on Childhood Poverty; and on the board of directors of both the Indiana & St. Joseph County Minority Health Coalitions.

I am currently the 2015-2017 Center for Social Concern Community Fellow, and a member of the St. Joseph County (IN) Public Health Department's Health Improvement Alliance Steering Committee. As a researcher, I have served as Principal Investigator on multiple projects addressing health disparities, infant mortality, mental health and childhood obesity. I received my Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Indiana University and my Master’s in applied medical anthropology from the University of North Texas.
