Students who are gifted and talented in this subject can be identified as follows:
In Psychology a ‘gifted’ student is one who can provide in-depth analysis of studies and theories and can draw upon a range of psychological concepts to criticise a theory. Gifted students in psychology can identify limitations of studies in terms of their research method used and apply knowledge of research methods across topics. Lastly, gifted psychology students can apply psychological knowledge to real-life scenarios.

Only one textbook available for 12/13 students aimed at a variety of abilities-all students told to buy at the beginning of the year.

G&T students encouraged to read Psychology Review available in the library to extend knowledge through understanding of topical articles / AS and A2: Revision sessions targeted to A*-B grades running prior to the exam focused on writing A-grade essay questions.
AS and A2: Educational visit to the Freud Museum. This will enable students to see the actual work of Freud and put it into context
Range of trips that can put the concepts that are taught in Psychology into context.
An outside speaker (possibly an ex-student) to discuss Psychology at degree level. This could motivate not only G&T students but all students taking the course.
