BREW GROUP MAINTENANCE KIT
VIENNA/TREVI/MAGIC/ROYAL
- Never put the brew group in a dishwasher.
- Rinse the brew group each day after use. Keep the filter screen free of coffee grounds. At least once a week wash the brew group with warm, soapy water. Use the cleaning brush provided with your machine to remove any coffee residue that you see. Do not soak the brew group in water when cleaning.
- First remove the dump box. Next remove the brew group for cleaning. The timing mark G must be aligned with timing indicator N. (see illus.) Grasp the brew group handle (item F) using your thumb press where indicated, and pull the brew group straight out away from the machine.
- Do not remove the screen over your sink.
- At least once a month remove the filter screen for cleaning. Use the key provided (item D) to loosen the thumbscrew for the filter screen (item H) by placing the key down over the thumbscrew and turning it counter-clockwise. Hold the filter screen (item C) to keep it from spinning while the thumbscrew is turned. When re-installing the upper filter screen, turn the thumbscrew clockwise only until hand tight.
- Apply lubricant to o-rings (items B and E*) and also to the piston shaft (item J) and to the water inlet coupling (item A) once a month and replace the o-rings whenthey appear to be worn or flattened using the o-rings supplied withthis kit. Excessive water underneath the brew group or in the drip tray can indicate worn o-rings, which need to be replaced or the filter screen needs cleaning. When lubricating the water inlet coupling, apply a light coating to the inner surface of the coupling using a cotton swab – a cotton swab should also be used when lubricating the piston shaft to make sure that the lubricant is spread evenly along the length of the shaft.
*Only Magic and Royal will have this o-ring
- Make sure that the funnel is completely dry before re- inserting the group into the machine. Do not hold down the lever with the press indicator when placing the brew group back in the machine. Make sure the bottom of the group is level and that the guides on the base of the group slide into the grooves on the platform inside the machine. The brew group should audibly lock into place, confirm that it has done so by pulling on the handle without pressing the lever down – the brew group should remain firmly in place.
