Hello Parent Education Community,

It is time to recognize the excellent Parent Education Instructors we have in our program by nominating your current or former instructor for this award given annually. This year the committee will make one award.

This award was established in 2007 in honor of Val Donato who passed away in 2013 after having contributed 30+ years of service to parents and families in the cooperative preschool system. The award of $500 is awarded at the end of the school year to an outstanding Parent Education Instructor in the North Seattle Community College system.

To nominate a Parent Education Instructor (current or previous) submit the attached form by May 6, 2016. Completed nomination forms should be emailed to Dean Steven Thomas at or delivered to Dean Thomas’s office in the Health and Human Services Division of North Seattle College at 9600 College Way North, Seattle, WA 98103 by the deadline. Late forms will not be eligible for consideration.

The committee looks forward to reading your nomination forms, which will also be shared with the instructors who are nominated.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Steven L. Thomas, Ph.D.
