Job Description- Prince’s Trust Apprentice
The Prince’s Trust apprentice should be an enthusiastic volunteer looking to deliver and take part in multi sport activity sessions. They should have good people skills allowing them to interact with the various groups. They will have worked on the volunteer programme previously. They will carry out a minimum of 50 hours throughout the academic year on the internship.
They will plan and assist in the delivery of all Princes’ Trust sessions, recruit volunteers for the sessions and work closely with the SDO in the development of this programme.
The Prince’s Trust apprentice will be provided with apprentice kit. There is funding available to gain a level two qualification and they will gain an Emergency first aid in sport and safeguarding and protecting children certificate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To plan the 12 week activity programmes for the Prince’s Trust sessions.
- To liaise with coaches and volunteers about availability for the sessions.
- To attend and develop the Prince’s Trust sessions.
- To further develop the Prince’s Trust programme at Newcastle University.
Job Description- SUNEE Street league Apprentice
The SUNEE Street League apprentice will be a diverse and enthusiastic volunteer who has previously volunteered through the programme. They should show willingness to learn from people from different backgrounds and have the confidence to interact and work on a one to one basis with the clients. They will carry out a minimum of 50 hours throughout the academic year on the apprenticeship.
They will support the SUNEE Street league staff in the delivery of the programme and assist in the planning of activity programmes for groups within this strand.
The SUNEE Street League apprentice will be provided with apprentice kit. There is funding available to gain a level two qualification and they will gain an Emergency first aid in sport and safeguarding and protecting children certificate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To actively recruit volunteers for the SUNEE street league sessions and events.
- To attend SUNEE Street league sessions and events.
- To monitor the administration tasks for SUNEE Street league, I.E. Registers and registration forms to be given to the sports development team.
- To develop case studies with clients of SUNEE Street league.
- To plan the activity programme for the SUNEE Street league multi sport sessions at Newcastle.
Job Description- Virtual League’s Apprentice
The Virtual league apprentice will be interested in working within a school a setting and will ideally have experience in this area. They will be a confident individual who is able to promote and assist in the delivery of the programme. They will link closely with the SDO at Newcastle and the senior competition manager in the Newcastle Schools sports partnership to develop the programme further. They will manage the student volunteers engaged on this programme and assist in the delivery with the students where needed.
They will carry out a minimum of 50 hours throughout the academic year on the internship.
The Virtual league apprentice will be provided with apprentice kit. There is funding available to gain a level two qualification and they will gain an Emergency first aid in sport and safeguarding and protecting children certificate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To develop and assist in the delivery of the virtual league programme.
- To liaise with the SCM and volunteers engaged in the delivery of the programme.
- To organise and plan the programme with the specific volunteers at each school.
- To oversee the running of the programme and report back to the SDO.
- To promote the programme to other schools not yet engaged in the programme.
Job Description- Volunteer Development Apprentice
The volunteer development apprentice will be a committed individual with a good knowledge of the sports volunteer programme who has previously worked on the programme. They should be an enthusiastic and open person with good people skills who can help develop and improve the Volunteer programme. They will liaise with the sport development team to ensure the recruitment and retention of volunteers. They will be the main point of contact for all volunteers actively working on the programme for any issues or problems they may be having. They will carry out a minimum of 50 hours throughout the academic year on the internship.
The volunteer development apprentice will be provided with apprentice kit. There is funding available to gain a level two qualification and they will gain an Emergency first aid in sport and safeguarding and protecting children certificate.
Roles and responsibilities:
- To advertise the volunteer programme continually throughout the year with the aim of recruiting and retaining volunteers.
- To deliver and develop the ‘distance travelled’ programme for volunteers at intervals throughout the year.
- To act as a point of contact for problems, worries or any immediate issues from volunteers across all strands of the HEFCE programme.
- To develop the social aspects of the volunteer programme by arranging team building activities for active volunteers.
