About STEP
STEP is the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning. The Society helps to improve public understanding of the issues families face in this area and promotes education and high professional standards among its members. STEP has over 20,000 members across 80 plus jurisdictions from a broad range of professional backgrounds, including lawyers, accountants, trust specialists and other practitioners in this area. STEP members help families plan for their futures, specialising in a wide range of activities, from drafting a relatively simple will to more complex issues surrounding international families, protection of the vulnerable, family businesses and philanthropic giving.
Principal Accountabilities & Standards
To support the Professional Development department principally with the management of members’ Continuing Professional Development; with advising stakeholders about STEP qualifications and to work on academic partnerships globally
Main Duties & Responsibilities
CPD
- Manage the CPD Centre ensuring it is up to date, engaging and relevant to members’ needs
- Manage the CPD inbox
- Promote the value of CPD to members and stakeholders through different channels including email, web, social media and f2f, to include policy and resources
- Oversee the review of members’ CPD
Academic Partnerships
- Work with Universities to identify ways to promote STEP as a career including identifying courses appropriate for accreditation by STEP towards STEP membership
- Support the Academic Community with membership, research and event
Qualifications
- Oversee PD webpages
- Oversee the global running of the STEP Excellence Awards in collaboration with the Communications department
General areas of responsibility
Undertake a range of tasks across the Professional Development Directorate and STEP WW office such as:
- Support other STEP departments and colleagues on a needs basis
- Liaise with CLTi
- Communicate with STEP branches
- Act as secretary to the Professional Development Committee

Qualifications:A professional or academic qualification relevant to the job title
Experience:Work in an education or membership role
Skills & Aptitudes:Excellent copywriting skills; ability to work with teams and across departments; ability to work autonomously, commercial awareness; web editing skills; understanding of databases and mass email systems, ability to research; report writing; ability to make presentations; ability to build relationships with 3rd party providers; professional behaviour and diplomacy, cultural awareness
Knowledge:Education or CPD related; membership body structures
Special requirements:Autonomous worker, keen to develop self in matters of education
