Mike Cook called the meeting to order at 7:02pm

Roll call was given and discussions began regarding the end of season survey DFW sent out. We received over 70 responses and for the most part, everyone seemed to think the season went well, given the time we had to pull it together.

Tracey Perry: Treasurer report given with checking/savings balances.

Discussion started with survey hot points:

●Need more consistent officiating

●Need better scheduling process

●Need central ref pay system in place

●Bantam leveling: Did not like/work

●Advantage Rule-need one in place

●½ Group (half fields) tweaking

●Locking rosters for season play/playoffs. This prompted large discussion on “swing players”. Should we limit #’s?

**Need to have in rules/policies for DFWL that a player can swing “up”, but not “down”. Also need to clarify swing players in rules/policies.**

Discussed having a “playday” with short games to evaluate teams before putting them into divisions for coaches/programs.

Large discussion in regards to D1/D2/D3 teams. Should we all have a team in D1 no matter what?

Discussions also mentioned that having more committee’s in place is a top priority:

●HTG Committee: Worked great this year, but need to rotate a couple of people out each year and leave on 2-3.

●Game scheduling committee: Need to find electronic scheduling method.

●Sponsorship committee: Need this ASAP.

●Tournament committee

●Officials liaison committee: Work with officials on training/consistency. Question came up about how we can rate officials after every game. Arbiter has a way to do this and Robin Barron is emailing Kevin Oliver to see how we can all have a log in to Arbiter.

Comment was made that a ref associated with a program should not be allowed to ref that game and that there should be some way to recognize a ref for doing a great job. Need to have a central ref pay system or be able to pay upfront. Ref’s did praise us this year for using NCAA rules.

We all agreed that we need to get our tournaments for fall planned out and also dates nailed down for spring season ASAP.

Plan for fall:

Fall Ball: Growing in #’s. 7 games/all on Sunday’s. $55 per team per game for ref fees. $100 per team for assignor fees. Start Sept 14th-Nov 2nd. Pink Out (October ⅚) included in 7 game total.

Maitland Tournament: Oct 12-13? Possibly allowing ⅚ & ⅞ teams to register. Plano programs to provide details as they become available.

DFWL Fall Festival: Have same weekend as Halloween Shootout, which we all agreed we would not be participating in this year. October 25-26. Robin Barron and others were looking into fields we could use for this. Budget $450/team

TurLaxin’ @ McKinney: Youth girls Nov 8-9/Youth boys Nov 15-16. Budget $450/team

Chumash was a HUGE success this year. There are discussions with David Higbee at BRIDGE to have another event to benefit both BRIDGE and DFWL.

Discussion on setting meeting dates further out so people have time to attend. Mike Cook would like for us all to meet again in next 3-4 weeks.

Meeting ended at 8:50 p.m.
