U4TH CAREERS ACTIVITY AFTERNOON JUNE 16TH 2014

On Monday 16 June the whole U4 took part in a Careers Activity afternoon; comprising 4 activities; a skills awareness activity to think about what skills employers value, a personality quiz called the "Buzz test" to find out what kind of animal they would be, listening to video clips about different jobs and then finally a panel game to ask questions to guess the jobs of the panel of mystery guests. They then had the chance to ask the panel direction questions about their education, career and experiences. It was interesting to learn that Geoff Spooner had studied Zoology at University and Iain Powis had studied Fine Art.

The picture shows the winning boys together with Tedi Mead (OW) who works for Solid Solutions, Amar Iqbal, a Solicitor at Wright Hassall, Geoff Spooner, General Manager of Warwick Castle, Rose Cowley who works in Corporate Banking at Barclays, Professor Chris Dowson who is a Microbiologist at Warwick University and Iain Powis, an Estate Agent at Savills.

The focus of the day was to develop research skills and to think about qualities that employers and universities value.
