Learn how to take your God-given dream of starting a business and put it into action. Or, if you already have a business, learn how to take it to the next level. You will learn everything you need to know to start, operate or grow your business utilizing best business practices and time- tested business wisdom. You’ll begin by discovering the techniques for picking the right opportunity, how to protect your idea and then develop proven marketing techniques to easily build sales. We’ll review traditional and non-traditional funding options. You’ll learn easy-to-implement employee management procedures and strategies for building the team as well as production and sales distribution options. Finally, you’ll write your own business plan that helps you build your business strategically and attract investors and customers. Discover the secrets that separate the successful entrepreneurs from the struggling ones.

The course is also a Certificate in Biblical Entrepreneurship (BE). It guides you to create

About the Instructor – Stephen D. Christensen

and

Stephen Christensen is experienced as both an intrepreneur and entrepreneur. He helped launch a business communications company as well as a non-profit ministry. He is a business leader in the non-profit and higher education fields who draws upon more than 25 years of diversified leadership, management and fund raising experience to design and implement new initiatives and programs including fund development, campaigns and marketing programs.

He is currently the executive vice president for external relations at Concordia University. In 2007, his team successful completed the university’s largest capital campaign, raising $22 million. He established the President’s Advisory Council, the School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and the Business Partners program. In 2002, he created the University’s Faith and Business Forum. Over 6,000 business leaders have participated in the annual Forum events. He also founded Concordia’s Center for Faith and Business.

Prior to this, he served as the vice president of marketing at TeeHub, LLC (Irvine, CA), a start-up video communications company. He developed the company’s marketing and sales strategies that launching the business.

He was chief advancement officer at Olive Crest Foster Homes and Services for Abused Children (Santa Ana, CA), managing the external relations programs including 6 regional development officers in 3 states that raised $6 million annually. He created a new Business Partners program, a new Family Circle program and also coordinated an internal strategic planning process to prepare for a proposed $50 million campaign.

Previously, he raised $300,000 and founded a non-profit ministry called Faith and Work Life (FWL) (Newport Beach, CA), a discipleship ministry dedicated to helping people understand work from God’s perspective and how to apply biblical principles to work. He teaches on this topic often.

He also served as vice president for university relations at Chapman University, Orange CA. Under his leadership, the Chapman team increased annual giving from $6 million to $17 million and raising $170 million including $25 million for a new business school building and naming.
