Dear president of the National Federation.

WANTED YOUNG PEOPLE between 18 and 25 years old, currently involved in volunteering or working in the sport and involved with community programmes
The United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP), usually organizes training camps (up to now 13) for youth aged between 18 and 25 years currently involved in volunteering in grassroots level sport for development projects and have shown outstanding leadership potential, to develop this leadership, so there will be activities to develop new activities, to perform the activities that they already organize and specially in the promotion of development and peace.

This camps are totally financed from the office (accommodation, food, daily allowance, insurance, airplane travels to the country). The only cost that UNOSDP will not cover is the cost of getting to and from the airport at the participants home country and the costs related to the visa process.

Last year there was already one camp at the same venue, that is in Bradenton (Florida) USA, in English, in which there were two participants coming from the Table Tennis world, Yvonne FOSTER from Jamaica and Santiago MERCADÉ from Argentina.

We invite you to do applications, the camp will be in English and from 6-20 June in United States of America.

Criteria that should be met:

Ø  The participants should be from the age of 18-25 and from a disadvantaged communities and/or backgrounds.

Ø  The camp in Florida will be focused on youth from Latin America, North America and surrounding islands, including a selection of representatives from other countries.

Ø  They should be currently volunteering or working in the sport for development field and involved with community programmes

Ø  The participant should have a leadership role within their sport for development organization.

Ø  Since one of the objectives of the camp is to share best practices and experiences from the field, we are looking for young people with great social skills who would be ready to present and share their work in public.

Ø  Most importantly we are looking for participants who are motivated and dedicated to work in the field of sport for development and peace, bringing innovative ideas into their programmes and to this field.

Ø  Since the official language of the camps is English, it is essential that the candidate has excellent conversational skills in English.

Ø  There is strength in diversity and therefore we encourage persons with disabilities, people from different cultural backgrounds, with different experiences to come together to teach each other and to learn from one another.

Ø  Gender equality is very important to us so we will be looking at having a minimum of 50% female participation.

Participants enjoy a lot, they do different sports and activities, learn a lot and they get a lot of fun and it´s an experience that will be always in their mind, helping them to use all knowledge learnt during the camp at their communities and countries.
