JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: CRÈCHE CO-ORDINATOR
LOCATION: GFS PLATFORM SKEGNESS
REPORTING TO: PROJECT MANAGER
RESPONSIBLE FOR: CRÈCHE STAFF
Overall purpose of the post:
· To deliver high quality childcare in accordance with GFS policies and procedures.
· Liase with other members of staff and parents on the needs of the individual child.
· To adhere to and regularly monitor and evaluate the Hear By Right framework, ensuring the active participation of young women in all aspects of the work.
Key areas of responsibility:
· To work in line with policies and procedures as outlined by the Early years foundation stage statutory framework and by OFSTED.
· To develop and maintain a facility, which offers quality childcare and a range of activities to meet the children's needs.
· To ensure that accurate and appropriate records are kept in line with the day to day running of the crèche.
· To provide regular managerial supervision meetings for individual staff.
· To work closely with the crèche workers to provide a high level of care for the children.
· To operate a 'Key person”' system and to co-ordinate feedback on the physical and developmental progress of their child back to the young women.
EDUCATION AND SOCIAL WELFARE
· To manage a crèche facility in line with the, Early years foundation stage statutory framework to provide a safe healthy environment ensuring that Health and Safety policies are adhered to.
· To provide regular reports both written and verbal.
· To develop and maintain a range of activities within the Early years foundation stage to meet the children’s’ physical, cultural, social, intellectual and emotional needs.
· To manage the preparation of the equipment and materials needed before each session appropriate to the children’s ages and level of development.
· To offer support, help and advice to the women concerning their children when required.
· To attend staff meetings and training sessions when appropriate and to assist and take part in outings and day trips.
· To ensure toys and equipment are in good working order and maintained to safety standards.
LIASON AND DEVELOPMENT
· To ensure accurate records are provided for each session.
· To liaise with the Project Manager in assessing and monitoring the needs of individual children including home visits where appropriate.
· To carry out any other duties as may from time to time be reasonably requested in line with the general responsibilities of the post.
GENERAL
· To undertake training and attend meetings as required as part of the role.
· To assist with and be part of the planning, organising and running of occasional evening or weekend events and residential.
· To contribute to and assist with any paperwork on the work of GFS Platform to ensure a high profile is held within the field of work with young women.
· To comply with the GFS Platform’s Policies and Procedures and uphold any changes to these.
· To undertake any other reasonable duties as and when requested.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CRECHE CO-ORDINATOR
Location: GFS Platform Skegness, Townsend House, 3 Saxby Avenue, Skegness, PE25 3JZ, and satellite bases operated by GFS Platform Skegness.
Salary: GFS Platform salary £16,504 per annum pro-rata on scale 11 per annum pro rata.
Hours of work: 25 hours per week, between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (moving between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Time Off In lieu (TOIL) is allowed for all work agreed with line manager beyond contracted hours at the rate of one hour for one hour with a maximum of 7 hours in any one day. TOIL must be taken within one month.
Paid holiday: 25 days per annum pro rata, (five days pro-rata to be held for Christmas) in addition, GFS offers two discretionary days which are taken at Christmas and Easter and 8 public or bank holidays pro rata. Leave is taken in the first four weeks of the summer break.
Pension scheme: Employees are offered membership of the Society’s Pension Scheme with the Pension's Trust, 7.5% employer contribution and 5% minimum employee contribution.

Offer of this job is conditional on receipt of two professional references, a CRB disclosure and a satisfactory GFS health questionnaire.
A six month probationary period will apply, until confirmed in post the notice period will be one week.
