The role of the understudy is meant to be a learning experience. While you had a wonderful audition you will only be performing these roles if the person singing it becomes ill or injured. Along with learning your required ensemble materials you will be asked to attend all rehearsals required for the role you are understudying. This is a chance for you to learn how to study a role as well as how to rehearse as a lead. If the person originally playing the part should become ill or unable to perform you will be asked to step in. That is why it is important to take notes and be attentive at every rehearsal. If you do not wish to accept this position please speak to Mrs. Kehl ASAP, as there may be someone else suited for the job. Thank you and I look forward to working with you.
