Research Shows One Vehicle Fire Occurs on Average Every Two Minutes

(Larkspur, CA) – According to the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), U.S. fire departments respond to an average of one highway vehicle fire every two minutes. NFPA reports that more people died as a result of vehicle fires than apartment fires, and that most highway vehicle fires result from either mechanical or electrical problems. In fact, sixty-five percent of the highway vehicle fires began in the engine, running gear or wheel area.
