Divano Plinio

Everlasting, born 1975.

“These days it has become very trendy to refer to everything as “Eco”. In 1975, when this sofa was designed, the term “ecological” didn’t mean very much. If we look at sofas made in the early 1900’s or during the Art Deco period, we see that the main structure was made out of exposed wood and the cushions were highly decorated and comfortable. I had these elegant sofas in mind when I produced my first Divano Plinio in 1975.”

This sofa has very precise geometric lines with large arm rests, which can be used to rest things on, and lightweight cushions which can be moved around and can be used in different positions.

Back in 1975 the Divano Plinio was designed to be easily dismantled and was always made out of heavy oak using old fashioned joints. The various elements that compose it are fixed to the base with a hardware of our production. The very lightweight padding is made of ecological and biodegradable material which gives an overall feeling of comfort since it is porous.

LINSEED OIL WITH NATURAL PIGMENTS FINISH

Recommended for people who like heterogeneous look furniture and old wood sensation

The linseed oil, with natural pigments finish, highlight the wood grains and knots and make each piece of furniture unique.

OPEN PORE COLOURWASH AND POLISHING FINISH

Recommended for people who, even appreciating the wood warmth and softness, wish a homogeneous color and a higher protective finish

This finish join present and past using the ancient way of giving a first coat of a colourwash base for a new water primer able to maintain the natural well-seasoned wood humidity. After sanding-paper a last protective matt or shining effect water finishcoat is applied.

Divano Plinio

Intramontabile, nato nel 1975.

“Oggi l’ecologia è di moda, ma nel 1975 quando è nato questo divano, essere ecologici era considerato come una follia. Se osserviamo i divani dei primi del ‘900 o Art Deco ci rendiamo conto che le strutture portanti erano in legno, a vista e che i cuscini avevano forme decorative, confortevoli, ma non esageratamente voluminose. Sono questi divani così eleganti che mi hanno ispirato per realizzare il primo Divano Plinio.”

Un divano dalle linee geometriche molto precise, con grandi braccioli utilizzabili come piani d’appoggio per gli oggetti di cui possiamo avere bisogno, cuscini leggeri e mobili, adattabili alle posizioni assunte sul divano. Già da allora, il Divano Plinio è stato concepito come una struttura smontabile e da sempre in rovere massello con antichi sistemi di incastro.

I diversi elementi che lo compongono si fissano alla base con una ferramenta di nostra produzione. Le leggere imbottiture in materiale ecologico e biodegradabile permettono di avere una seduta confortevole e molto traspirante.

FINITURE DEL LEGNO

TRATTAMENTO CON OLIO DI LINO COTTO E GOMMALACCA

Consigliato a chi ama un prototto eterogeneo, con quella sensazione di legno un pò vissuto

La lucidatura con olio di lino cotto, colorato dai pigmenti, evidenzia le venature e I nodi che rendono ogni prodotto unico e diverso dall’altro.

TRATTAMENTO DI LUCIDATURA A PORO APERTO

Consigliato a chi ama il legno ben lucidato, opaco o lucido, dal colore uniforme e molto liscio al tatto

Un ciclo di lucidatura che unisce passato e presente. Si parte dall’antico metodo della tinta all’acqua, pazientemente stesa a pennello e si termina con un moderno trattamento protettivo solubile in acqua.
